It has been brought to our attention that “hackers” have been gaining access to a customers voice mailboxes and changing the notification field to an international number. In these cases, the users password was the same as their mailbox number. A source has indicated that this “hack” has been happening all over the Northeast.
In order to avoid such a threat to your system, ITC is implementing the following steps to combat this situation:
All customers are being urged to have employees change their passwords, if they are the same as their mailbox number at least twice a year.
